In 2007, China‘s plant protection drones began to develop. In 2010, the 3CD-10 single-rotor oil-based animal and plant protection drone produced by Wuxi Hanhe made its debut at the "National Agricultural Machinery Expo" for the first time. This is China‘s first oil-powered single-rotor plant protection drone on the market, marking the first step in the commercialization of China‘s plant protection drone. In 2012, DJI Dajiang Innovation applied the world‘s outstanding drone technology to the agricultural field, and in 2015, it founded DJI DJI Agriculture and released the MG-1 agricultural plant protection drone. In 2015, Jifei Technology released a plant protection drone and established Jifei Agricultural Service Company. Today, many drone companies are committed to providing users with agricultural solutions based on drone technology, and promoting the development and progress of global agriculture.

 

With the rapid development of plant protection drones, smarter products have created a wider range of needs and applications. Plant protection drones are no longer only used for pesticide application, but also for spreading fertilizer, seed, and fodder. Therefore, "plant protection drones" are gradually being replaced by "agricultural drones" in a broader sense.
